I fully admit this outfit is not very goth, other than me wearing it. But, as we ElderGoths are fond of saying, goth is more than just black clothes or liking certain bands or books or movies -- it's a state of mind & an attitude. That's my story & I'm sticking to it.
The scarf is one of the things I picked up last weekend, & I had no idea it would coordinate so perfectly with things in my closet. It was a whim that worked out fantastically, imnsho. And this is another try at belting a scarf, which seems to work better with a more normal-sized scarf than the giganto shawl I attempted earlier.
What I'm wearing:
Purple-pink ruched-shoulder sweater, H&M
Grey corduroy skirt, Newport News
Black tights, Calvin Klein
Black boots, Clarks
Floral scarf, Old Navy
Studded belt, Macy's
Gunmetal hoops, New York & Co.
Pink pyramid ring, Icing
Huh. I would totally classify this outfit as on the goth spectrum, but that's probably because you're just gothy. You're like King Midas, if everything he touched turned to goth not gold.
ReplyDeleteAlthough having the ability to turn things into gold would be pretty sweet, too.
Agreed... you = goth, and because we know you we expect pinks and purples. Love it, love you!
ReplyDeleteThe key to knowing you're really goth is if people still call you that when you are wearing very little black. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI love how the shirt makes the grey of the skirt look more amethyst in the photos.
Sarah - Yeah, I guess it just barely makes it into the goth spectrum. I mean, it's hard not look that way w/my dyed black hair & black cat-eye glasses...
ReplyDeleteElisa - Aww, thanks ;-)
LoveleAnjel - Thanks so much!
LOVE this - but then you know I would! It totally reads as goth to me -- I think purples and dark reds are definitely goth colors (hell, probably any dark shade of anything). You look so fab in black/grey... but you also look gorgeous in this bright purple, and it's so fun to see you in something so different (color-wise)!
ReplyDeleteKendra - Yep, I did think of you when I saw this scarf! Tho' I really didn't know I already had stuff that went with it.
