Temperatures were in the 90s this week, so CorpGoth turned from black to white to fight the heat. Monday was half-white, a repeat of this outfit but with a black T-shirt, no tights, & sandals instead of boots (& no photo because my husband stole my tripod). Tuesday was this white dress. Wednesday I was home, & Thursday I wore jeans & a tank top (wasn't worth documenting here). So just one photo!
What I'm wearing:
White pleated cotton-blend dress, gift from Lisa
Black elastic belt, NY & Company
Black buckled wedge heels, Kohl's
Black & gold round dangle earrings, Forever 21
Black & white beaded cuff bracelet, bought in Kauai
Small white newsprint-fabric flower in hair, random accessory store
How do you dress at work in hot weather?
I tend to dress in loose, flowing skirts and T-shirts. I can't go too light, though, because our building sets the air conditioning on "Meat Locker" during the spring and summer.
ReplyDeleteYou look great in that dress. You put yourself together so well for work, and I'm glad that I'm able to help you with that once in a while. :)

I love the white dress! Unfortunately my office is so cold, I tend to wear long sleeves and sweaters or jackets year round. The only real change I make for hot weather is to leave the panty hose/tights at home.
ReplyDeleteMy work is at home. I alternate between being in sloppies (shorts and a t-shirt) around the kids and being in lightweight skirts and nicer tops when we are out and about. When I worked in an office, they cranked the AC also so I was always carrying sweaters.
ReplyDeletePerfect summer work dress! The shoes go great with it, too. I used to have an office with my own climate control, so I'd go sleeveless a lot in the summer. Starting Monday, they've moved me to an office in an area that shares an AC with two menopausal women (and I get cold easily), so I guess it's sweaters year-round for me now, too! :)
ReplyDeleteThat dress looks breezy - like it has its own AC.
ReplyDeleteThe University turns off the AC over the weekends, so Monday it's steamy and I have to wear very short cap sleeves and a knee-length skirt/dress (going totally sleeveless feels weird). As the week goes on the building gets colder and I can wear sleeveless shirts with cardis. Tues & Wed I can get away with knee-length shorts & skirts or capri, but by Thurs & Fri it's too cold inside and I have to wear full pants. I've finally got the rhythm down, which is nice.
Nicole - Sounds like a great summer 'uniform'!'
ReplyDeleteangldst - Thanks, & you'll see a dress you made for me in today's blog post ;-)
Shannon - Ugh. My office has fine-tuned the AC so it's not freezing during summer (trying to save on power bills). It's just pleasant.
lazysubculturalgirl - Heh, when I telecommute, out come the shorts & tanks!
VictorianKitty - Aren't those wedges great? Sorry to hear about your AC tho.
LovleAnjel - What a funky schedule you've got there!
I really like the sleeves on your dress. As to how I dress for work in hot weather, I am lucky that we don't have much of a dress code in my office. So I pretty much dress the same way I do the rest of the year, but without the tights and the cardigan.
