Cherry With a Touch of Poison

There's no theme to this outfit. I just wanted to wear a little bit of bright color, plus my new poison ring.

What I'm wearing:
White & black pinstriped twill jacket, Macy's | Black zip-front ruffled sleeveless top, Michael by Michael Kors | Cherry red pleated cotton skirt, Newport News | Black abstract lace stockings, unknown brand | Black T-strap pumps, Aldo | Round silver earrings, random accessory store | Silver & garnet poison ring, eBay

Alas, I ripped these stockings today! And they're a fave, so I'll have to hunt for a replacement. I've been contemplating a sort of clothing diet, for both financial & moral reasons. I have a huge, overly stuffed wardrobe, so I could stand to stop buying new things for a while. Maybe make an exception to replace specific small things that become destroyed & unwearable? Just as long as I don't use that as an excuse to go shopping...

  1. Oooo ... pretty poison ring! Love the garnet! That jacket looks really awesome on you. Are those open grommets or buttons? It looks like you can weave a really gorgeous ribbon through them and "lace" yourself like a corset. So pretty!

  2. Oooooh! GORGEOUS ring. That's the teeny tiniest hinge I've ever seen. :)

What a shame about the tights. Yes, I think you can replace tights without breaking your shopping ban. They are like underwear: necessities!

  3. Your ring is fabulous! Good ol' eBay.

I smiled at 'clothing diet.' Hehe! It would be interesting to see how many outfits your can make with your red skirt without buying anything new!

  6. Mary Zawadzki - The jacket has huge grommets on the front, but I hadn't thot of lacing thru them. Cool idea, thx.

VictorianKitty - True, tights should count as undies ;-)

pinsandpatience - A clothing diet shouldn't be *too* hard considering how much stuff is in my closet already!

    Madame Macabre - Thanks

LovleAnjel - Yep, giant grommets, plus bows at the sleeves!

  8. One good technique I've heard (and occassionally made use of) is one in, one out. You can buy new clothes, but every garment you bring into the house means one has to go - and no cheating, such as new dress vs old socks, lol.
