Another week of non-daily-outfit-blogging (so far, anyways), but here's a peek into what I wore over the weekend...
This is a new 16th-c. gown I made last year & finally wore at a Society for Creative Anachronism event, where I'm Lady Violet Ruthvene, a 1580s lowland Scots gentlewoman. And I'm still gothy. My historically accurate heraldry even has a bat on a purple ground. And, as you can see, I wear dark colors. Same person, whatever the era ;-)
I wrote a little background on making the gown for on my costume website too.
Love it!

Love it! You look great.
ReplyDeleteI love your dress!!!! I have heard about SCA for years and never got into it. Might have to do that once I find the time. ^_^
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the neckline and the sleeve detailing. Looks pretty authentic too (bearing in mind, I know very little about correct "period" wear).
ReplyDeleteAwesome dress! I've never done SCA, but we hit the Ren faires in our area every year.In garb, of course :)
