Do you mix patterns in your outfits?
I love the pattern mixing in this outfit, Trystan! I think you did an awesome job of it.
ReplyDeleteI posted my jacket for you: http://sheilaephemera.blogspot.com/2012/01/gothic-snowflake.html
I think it looks great, since it is within the same colour family :)
ReplyDeleteI think it looks cool! What makes it work is the smaller pinstripe against the larger floral pattern. The polkadots are away from the main areas of pattern enough that they aren't overbearing and old. It really works together. LOVE those shoes!!!
ReplyDeleteI am not normally a fan of mixing patterns, but I think you pulled this off really well. Sticking with a black/white/grey pallette really tied it all together.
ReplyDeleteI think it works, due to the similar palette and similar intensity of prints. I would have gone with something a bit more sheer or a little lighter for the scarf, but that's me.
ReplyDeleteI actually like the shirts that are made with several prints together, so that was my first thought when I saw the pic. Looks good to me!
Thanks! And yes, your jacket is to die for :)
ReplyDeleteThe scale of the patterns does keep it in balance I think. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Definitely helps that they're all in similar colors.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! I think it's bold yet coordinated, spunky yet smart. I'd call this cabaret-goth--vests and carnivalesque pattern mixing is very cabaret.
ReplyDeleteMost definitely cute. They all compliment each other rather than fight for attention. Brings a depth to the outfit for sure.
ReplyDeleteLove!
Oh, I love that, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I've been experimenting with pattern matching lately too. I like the way you've done it, really bold and lovely!
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job with the patterns. Normally I "loath" polka dots, but I didn't hate the scarf. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely cute.
ReplyDeleteNew stalker here! Found you through Madame Charm School (of course). And *I* think your pattern mixing is WONDERFUL. Because, of course, as others have said, the saturation of the colors is mostly the same - lots of black & white prints together. It's like those nutty sixties prints (Pucci as the best of the lot) - the colors involved are all SO scarily neon that they are on a visual equal plane.
ReplyDeleteOf course I mean I LOVE IT and I think it works and... I've had too much coffee.
Plus, you got a little steampunk feel goin' on in this outfit. Which is *always* fun!
Oooo, Trystan! I absolutely LOVE this outfit! So edgy and classy at the same time. Damask and stripes and dots, oh my! That's three of my favorite things right there. LOL All cleverly assembled. Well done, girlfriend!
