Victorian-esque blouse? Check. Straight skirt? Check. Striped tie? Check? Killer heels? Check. Matching lipstick? Check.
This outfit has all the ingredients of a super, mega CorpGoth outfit on the PerkyGoth side. Black & pink all over. Sometimes I just can't help myself.
What I'm wearing:
Black Victorian-style blouse with lace collar & cuffs, made by Donna | Hot pink skirt, NY & Company | Black & pink striped men's tie, vintage | Black tights, Calvin Klein | Black & pink pumps, Irregular Choice | Gunmetal hoop earrings, random accessory store | Black & gunmetal cocktail ring, Icing
The tie completely MAKES the outfit! I wish you had a close up of the shoes, though -- I'm driving myself crazy trying to see the design on them.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it-the pink stripes in the tie match the skirt beautifully, and it's a great combination of a bright "fluffy" sort of color with sleek, professional pieces. And I love the touches of lace at the collar and cuffs of the blouse that set it apart from a plain black blouse. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI last showed off these shoes here: http://corpgoth.blogspot.com/2011/12/how-i-find-comfort-at-night-seek-joy-in.html :-)
ReplyDeleteHawt!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the victorian blouse! It's the details that make it so wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is FANTASTIC. Even better to contrast its softness with the hard lines of the tie and pencil skirt.
ReplyDeleteHOLY SMOKES!!! You look AWESOME! I absolutely, hands down LOVE this outfit. Heck, I think this might be my favorite outfit you've worn and that's saying a lot because you always look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the lace, but sadly, I would absolutely DESTROY it at work (clerical mixed with library materials receiving). :(
ReplyDeleteThanks! The blouse is a particular fave -- Donna originally made it as part of a Victorian bustle gown outfit for me, but I'm glad I can use it in my everyday wardrobe too.
ReplyDelete*blush!*
ReplyDelete'Zactly!
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks :-)
ReplyDeleteTrue, & that's why I can't wear it *too* often!
ReplyDeleteI love the shirt, it's gorgeous :) The poet sleeves and lace cuffs are wonderful. I really, really don't want to be mean, but personally I don't think the tie works - in my head I'd re-envisage it as a hot pink scarf. The tie is quite popular with others, so I guess that's a personal preference thing.
ReplyDeleteYou've done it again. I LOVE this outfit; the tie, the stripes, the contrast of frills and tailoring, of brilliant color with somber black. Yes, yes, YES! I'm like you in that I like carrying a theme throughout an outfit, even if it sometimes verges on cheesy (like my skull & crossbone motif). I just can't help myself! I wore a necktie to work this week, also, and loved the quirky, yet polished, feeling it gave me. Oooo, the masculine and feminine contrast, I forgot to mention! I happen to think contrast is a big part of the goth aesthetic, so you pulled off a biggie with all these contrasts going on cohesively in one outfit.
ReplyDeleteTo each their own ;-) I wear scarves a lot, but sometimes, a tie just screams "CorpGoth" to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yep, you hit the nails on the head -- all my faves, a theme with a bit of contrast.
