Summer Flowers

Still hot, so here's how I cope. Another sleeveless dress, livened up with prints. How are you coping with summer?

What I'm wearing:
Black sheath dress, Target | Purple, blue, & white floral scarf, Old Navy | Plum tights, unknown brand | Purple velvet ankle-strap pumps, Rocket Dog | Silver filigree earrings, Target | Purple & grey flower hair pins, random accessory store

  1. Oh, cute. love the combo of prints & accessories to dress up this nice, simple dress. Gotta send me some fabric, yo, so I can make you up a few more nice, simple, (very well fitting) dresses and basics that you can continue to dress em up in your awesome fashion.

  2. Gorgeous shoes! I love how they match your hair flower. You look both suitably summery and suitably Goth-y. It's winter here in Wellington right now, so we're ranging between lovely, gorgeous 60-degree weather with sunshine and cold, rainy, windy days-but I'm already mentally preparing for when I return home in less than a month and am plopped into the Colorado July heat. I generally wear lots of silk and cotton crinkle gypsy skirts with gauzy blouses or tanks, and (sadly) put my corsets away for a while to get through.

  3. What a lovely outfit! I like really much about your use of colors, it looks very stylish and professional but still very gothy too! :)

  4. SO pretty! I love the simplicity of the sheath dress paired with the textural velvet shoes and beautiful printed scarf. And of course, you know how much I love your hair up -- it's so soft and pretty. :)

  5. Cute scarf! I love the flower leitmotif.

Like you I have a freezing workplace so I tend to wear sleeveless and take a cardigan with me.

  7. Thanks, I just got these shoes repaired & I'm happy to be wearing them again. And going from NZ winter to Colorado summer, yikes, what a switch, good luck :-)

  8. I might just be wearing my hair up all summer -- so much more comfortable! And thank you for admiring it bec. I feel less like it's a lazy-day option & more refined now :-) (Esp. when I'm good about keeping the wispy bits tucked up.)

  9. Oh yes, the cardigan goes on before I step into the office building! And off again when I step out to cross between buildings for meetings. Crazy.
