I'm Back (Did You Notice I Was Gone?)

Didn't mean to take a week off, but best laid plans & all that. The big issue is that I'm in between steady carpools right now, so last week, I had to work from home mostly. And the two times I did go into the office, I wore repeat outfits -- particularly because I was so busy with Earth Day content. Hopefully soon, things will settle down here...

What I'm wearing:
Maroon & purple cotton-print dress, April Cornell
Black wool ruffled bolero sweater, Kohl's
Black tights, Calvin Klein
Black T-strap wedges, Kenneth Cole (thrifted)
Chunky silver bead necklace, Target
Large pink filigree earrings, Blackbird Jewels on Etsy, won in a giveaway from Miss Vinyl Ahoy

How do you get to work? Is it an easy commute or complicated? Share your tales of woe so we can commiserate!

  1. Shut the front door. That's April Cornell? I sooooo do not think out of the box.

Commute? It's 7 miles, and it might take 10 minues, and it did take an hour last week when they closed the interstate and the rest of the world was driving in podunk... I drive myself to work.

  2. I noticed!! I missed my daily dose of your wonderful taste in fashion!

I see that you haven't received any tales of woe yet... Sorry to say that I only have a 12-minute drive and it's a breeze! ;) But my husband does drive 1.5+ hours each way in heavy Los Angeles traffic.

  3. I noticed you were gone! I don't like to post "Hey, are you still there?" messages on people's blogs because I don't know what they might be dealing with. But I'm glad to see you back.

Most days, my husband drops me off at the subway and picks me up in the evening. It's slow because traffic around here sucks, but it isn't generally unbearable unless there's a Metro issue.

  4. Yes, we missed you!

We drive about 35 minutes each way (add an extra ten if you're driving that week). Since there's three of us and this is academia, we have to leave home by 6:45 am and we won't leave work until 5:45 pm most days. There are a lot of snacks in my desk.

This week MODOT has started lane closures, even though they won't do any construction until after the first. It's annoying to get slowed down just for the cones.

  5. Channon - I will shop anywhere, ya just don't know!

VictorianKitty - Lucky, 12-minute commute, what a breeze.

Nicole - You're very kind. I kept meaning to post a quick "not dead! back soon!" note, but work was too crazy.

cheeky curves - Thanks, 2 faves together.

LovleAnjel - Heh, that sounds kinda like my commute. It's only 13 miles, but it can take forever on a bad day. That's why the carpool lane is crucial.
